You may think you know the pickup truck segment inside and out, but if you’ve never experienced the 2018 Honda Ridgeline, then you haven’t seen anything yet! The writers at Car and Driver have showered praise on the Ridgeline—noting everything from its “refined road manners” to its “ingenious features”—and they’re not the only ones who are excited about what Honda’s new pickup has to offer. This is the redesigned Honda Ridgeline’s second year on the road, and although relatively little has been changed on this year’s model, discerning buyers will note that it possesses just nine trim options, as opposed to 12, and that it looks a bit more like a conventional pickup truck than it did last year. Although drivers who choose the Ridgeline will have fewer total trim options to choose from, those who select its celebrated Sport trim will be able to select two new colors: Lunar Metallic Silver and White Diamond Pearl.

What Sets the Ridgeline Apart?

No matter which of the Ridgeline’s trim levels and options you settle on, you’re sure to be satisfied by this Honda pickup’s exceptional capabilities. Honda’s models have received dozens of awards this year, and the Ridgeline is no exception! The 2017 Ridgeline was the first vehicle of its kind to earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety,* and it isn’t hard to see what sets this model apart. Those who select its RTL-E or Black Edition trim levels will receive a blind spot information system, a rear cross traffic monitor, and the entire Honda Sensing driver-assistance package.

All of the Ridgeline’s trims contain an impressive array of technology features, too, and those who opt for high-end Ridgeline builds will receive features like Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation and a unique truck-bed audio system. Of course, the Ridgeline also possesses all of the capabilities that normally define vehicles in the pickup segment. Its 3.5L V6 engine offers 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque, and with AWD equipped, it has a 5,000-pound towing capacity.
