Honda’s CR-V Tops the 2014 Hyundai Tucson Horsepower

2014 Honda CR-VThere are very few drivers that visit us at Central Illinois Honda Dealers that think horsepower is the end all and be all of cars, but most admit that it is pretty important.

A vehicle like the 2014 Hyundai Tucson needs power to get itself going and to pass on the highway, and falling short is not good for anyone.

If you want to get the most out of your SUV, you might want to consider a crossover like the 2014 Honda CR-V. It’s more powerful than the Tucson, giving you more confidence in your ability to haul people or cargo with ease.

Honda Makes a Better Engine

When you look at engines of competing models, usually there is just one thing that stands out. Maybe one is more efficient, or another is more powerful. Perhaps one manufacturer’s design is able to offer more torque.

Sometimes, not often but sometimes, an automaker accomplishes all three. The Honda CR-V is one such vehicle. The 2014 CR-V 2WD LX with automatic transmission gets an EPA-estimated 31 highway mpg and 23 city mpg* while still offering up 185 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque.

And the Tucson falls short of each of those marks. Hyundai’s powertrain is only rated at 29 highway and 22 city mpg, and it is only good for 164 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. It doesn’t get any clearer than that.

Add in the CR-V’s new standard features package, including Bluetooth, a rearview camera, and more, and it seems clear where the better vehicle is.
